Not at all. MatchDay is built for everyone who wants to play. Every player sets a self-rating when they sign up so we can build balanced, competitive games. Whether you played college ball or haven't touched a ball in years, there's a game for you.

Just yourself and your boots. MatchDay provides the ball, bibs, and a Match Manager on-site. Each match listing in the app shows the recommended footwear based on the field surface — turf shoes are always allowed.

Matches are 55 minutes and begin promptly at the scheduled kickoff time. Please arrive 10-15 minutes early to check in and warm up before play starts.

Absolutely. After completing your registration you can share the match link directly from the app. Your friends can book their own spot and will be placed on the same team when possible.

MatchDay encourages a 3-2-1 formation in 7v7 and a 3-3-1 in 8v8. Every player takes a shift in goal at some point so all positions rotate. The Match Manager handles team setup on the day.

Your highlights are available in the app after each match. Go to your completed matches section — your full-game video and personalized highlight reel will be there the morning after your game.

Every MatchDay game has a minimum registration requirement to ensure a quality experience. If a game doesn't hit the minimum, you'll be notified in advance and receive a full match credit — no questions asked.

Cancellations made more than 24 hours before kickoff receive a full match credit automatically applied to your next booking. Cancellations within 24 hours are not eligible for a credit, as this affects team balance and other registered players.

If you cancel more than 24 hours before kickoff, a match credit is automatically applied to your account. Credits never expire and can be used on any future MatchDay game in any city.
